Mission: Run a marathon
Goal: Live to tell the tale
We’re flying to Florida this afternoon! I really do not like flying, but thankfully all of my pre-marathon panic and anxiety is totally overriding my dislike for air travel. Thank goodness for small favors.
Wow, I can’t believe this is really happening! We first concocted this ridiculous plan during our drive to North Carolina on Thanksgiving day in 2009. It’s funny how running a marathon seems like a completely sane and wonderful idea when you’re SITTING in a car. This trip has been nearly 14 months in the making and now the marathon is just two days away. I know I’ve trained properly, but I still can’t help but feel unprepared. I’m banking on a heavy dose of race day adrenaline to carry me those 26.2 miles.
I’m not bringing laptop, but Craig is bringing his Netbook. I’ll try to pop on this weekend for a brief update, but the tiny Netbook and my man hands are not a good fit. We return home late Tuesday afternoon, so expect a full report sometime on Wednesday.
Next time I post, and barring sudden illness, injury, mental breakdown,
a tragic hair day or an unfortunate act of nature, I’ll be a marathoner!
