Bury Your Kid In The Sand

During our visit with my sister, Laura, who lives in Charlotte, we took a trip to Charleston.  Caroline, who hasn’t been to the beach too many times in her life, was itching to dig her feet in the sand and frolick in the waves.  Thursday morning, we set out on a three hour drive from Charlotte to Folly Beach in Charleston.

There we decided to mark the occasion by burying Caroline in the sand.

After her mud burial, she washed off in the waves,

and did a little posing.

and then we buried her again.

She emerged from the heavy sand,

and did a little more posing.

Caroline practiced her beach run, a la Baywatch,

 picked up shell fragments,

and had a really good time.

The rest of our trip didn’t exactly go as swimmingly as our beach visit; I’ll share those details with you later.

  1. Caroline is such a cute and happy girl. Just because I want to be like you when I grow up, I also want Leah to be like Caroline. 🙂 Glad you had fun at the beach!

    • Thanks Jen!
She is cute and happy, which makes life fun. I’m sure Leah will be just as cute and just as fun…and since you live by the beach, you’ll be able to bury her in the sand as often as you’d like.

Laura had Caroline pose for each month of the year. Some of the poses were absolutely hilarious.

Yo.
